Get ready, Beetlejuice fans, because the juice is loose once again! We are finally getting a sequel to Tim Burton's 1988 horror-comedy hit about a lunatic bio-exorcist named Beetlejuice.
Warner Bros. has announced that Beetlejuice 2 will be released in theaters on September 6, 2024. The film is set to be a direct sequel to the original, with Michael Keaton returning to the titular role.
Plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that Beetlejuice 2 will be directed by Henry Selick, who previously helmed Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. The screenplay is being written by Seth Grahame-Smith, who also wrote the screenplay for Tim Burton's Dark Shadows.
In addition to Keaton, the cast of Beetlejuice 2 is expected to include Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz, Geena Davis as Barbara Maitland, and Alec Baldwin as Adam Maitland. It is also rumored that Catherine O'Hara will be joining the cast as Beetlejuice's mother.
