Uefa Nations League Kazakhstan 0 Norway 0 Full Time

UEFA Nations League: Kazakhstan 0 Norway 0 - Full-Time

Match Report: Kazakhstan 0-0 Norway

Norway started their UEFA Nations League campaign with a goalless draw against Kazakhstan in Nur-Sultan on Saturday.

The visitors dominated possession and created the better chances throughout the match, but they were unable to break down a resolute Kazakh defense.

Erling Haaland, who scored a hat-trick in Norway's 4-0 win over Slovenia in March, was well-marshaled by the Kazakh defense and had few clear-cut chances.

Norway's best chance came in the first half when Martin Odegaard's free-kick cannoned off the crossbar.

Kazakhstan had a few chances of their own on the break, but they were unable to test Norway goalkeeper Andre Hansen.

The draw leaves Norway in second place in Group B4, behind leaders Slovenia who beat Serbia 2-1 in the other group match.

Reaction:

"We're disappointed not to win, but we have to give credit to Kazakhstan who defended very well," said Norway coach Stale Solbakken.

"We created enough chances to win the game, but we just couldn't find the finishing touch."

"It's a good point away from home, and we're still in a good position to qualify for the next round," said Kazakhstan coach Magomed Adiyev.

Next Fixtures:

Norway will host Serbia in their next match on Tuesday, while Kazakhstan will travel to Slovenia.
