Sheldon Keefe: A Hockey Success Story
From Player to Coach
Sheldon Keefe, born September 17, 1980, is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs. His journey in the sport of hockey has been marked by success on and off the ice.
Personal Life
Keefe is married to Jackie Keefe, who is also involved in the hockey community. They have three children together. Keefe's younger brother, Adam, is a former professional hockey player who won the Memorial Cup championship in 2002-03.
Coaching Career
Keefe began his coaching career with the Pembroke Lumber Kings of the Central Canada Hockey League. He led the team to a championship in 2006-07. He then moved to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League, where he won another championship in 2009-10.
Keefe joined the Maple Leafs organization in 2015 as an assistant coach. He was promoted to head coach in 2019-20 and has led the team to several playoff appearances.
