Dallas Dominates In Game 1 Blowout

Mavericks Crush Clippers for Franchise-Worst Playoff Loss

Dallas Dominates in Game 1 Blowout

Box Score: Dallas Mavericks 123, LA Clippers 93

In one of the most lopsided playoff games in NBA history, the Dallas Mavericks demoralized the Los Angeles Clippers 123-93 on May 1, 2024. The victory handed the Clippers their worst-ever playoff loss, shattering their previous record of a 23-point defeat.

The Mavericks dominated from tip-off, seizing an early lead and never looking back. Their suffocating defense stifled the Clippers' offense, holding them to a dismal 39% shooting percentage from the field. Meanwhile, Dallas' high-powered attack proved relentless, shooting over 50% and converting numerous three-pointers.

Leading the charge for the Mavericks was superstar Luka Doncic, who poured in 32 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and dished out 9 assists. Kristaps Porzingis chipped in 25 points and 15 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson added 22 points and 7 assists.

The Clippers, who had high hopes of contending for the NBA championship, were thoroughly outmatched by the Mavericks. Kawhi Leonard led the scoring for Los Angeles with 21 points, but he shot just 6-of-16 from the field and was unable to match Doncic's brilliance.

The loss is a major setback for the Clippers, who must now win Game 2 at home on May 3 to avoid falling into an insurmountable 0-2 hole.
