In a major branding move, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise has officially changed its name to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The announcement was made during the RCB Unbox 2024 event, where the team showcased its new look for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
The change of name reflects the team's deep connection with the city of Bengaluru. The new logo features a darker shade of green and incorporates the "Bengaluru" name prominently. The team's former logo featured the word "Bangalore."
RCB CEO Prathmesh Mishra said, "We are excited to unveil our new name and logo, which represents our commitment to Bengaluru and our fans. We believe this change will strengthen our connection with the city and help us create a stronger legacy for the team."
The team also unveiled its new jersey for the 2024 season. The jersey features a bold green color with subtle gold accents. It has the new RCB logo prominently displayed on the chest.
